trying to play catch up!!

I really do want to blog!!  I just need to catch up...here are some photos from the last couple months!

My sleepy heads were afraid of the coyotes and soothed each other and fell asleep finally!

Mia really didn't want to have anything to do with Santa, and poor Grace was coming down with a virus...not the best Santa visit!

Happy Halloween!

When asked what they wanted to be for halloween, both girls had definitive answers.  Grace wanted to be a fairy and Mia a "yee-haw".  I love the idea of home-made costumes.  Most years I try to make the girls' costumes from scratch, but I just didn't have it in me this year.  We were in Gymboree and saw the fairy costume and Grace loved it. Thank goodness she was so excited about it, cause then I was off the hook!  As for Mia we pieced together a costume and added some chaps and her hobby horse, easy and adorable!  

Banana "Canpakes"

No typo...miss Mia calls them canpakes!  I'll be so sad when she finally pronounces it correctly. I made banana pancakes this morning...well they started out as blueberry, but then switched to banana.  I was trying to capture the joy of a two-year-old eating blueberry pancakes...gotta love the messy face!

 

Happy Birthday Peanut!

We took Grace to Disneyland on her actual birthday...both her and Mia had a ton of fun!  I remember Grandma and Bubbles taking me to Disneyland for my 5th birthday, I can't believe it's already my turn to make memories for my own little girl.  It's cliche to say, but never ceases to amaze me just how fast they grow up.  

Happy Birthday peanut...I can't believe you're 5!  My sweet Grace you make mommy and daddy so proud.  you are so loving and caring, always showing concern for others.  I love hearing you sing constantly...your beautiful voice fills our home with happiness and love!!!

Grace wanted a "Backyardigans" birthday party.  Yes...I cringed at the thought of a character party!! But I had to humor her!  

My cupcake masterpieces!!! Holy mackerel they took forever! But they were definitely worth it....thank you auntie for all you help!

First Day of School

Both Grace and Mia are starting Miss Heidi's Preschool. We are so happy (and lucky) to be here!!!  We always take a first day of school picture!

Pumpkins!!

Ian planted pumpkin seeds that Nana(Denise) brought us...they've taken off, and it looks like we'll have some nice, big pumpkins!

Our Yard!

It seems as if we've been waiting forever...but our beautiful yard is finally taking shape!!
How many guys do you think it would take to get a bag of rubber bark off a truck?? The freight company didn't tell me that I needed to have help to unload! Thank goodness we had a ton of guys working at our house that day!


But it was worth the chaos! Our yard is coming together...the girls LOVE their playset!

Swim!!

Grace took swim lessons in July/August. She was a bit nervous at first but Mrs Campbell was fantastic with her and Grace quickly became a little "fish"!!!

More Belly!!

This time it's Deb's belly at 36 weeks! Any day now we get to meet little Parker!!

I finally took Mia's two year pictures! She is becoming such a ham...enjoying the camera (thank goodness) Here are a few of my favorites!

I actually prefer that Mia is miss serious instead of smiling on cue...at least we avoid the cheesy "cheese" smiles!!!

Sisters

Love...my girls really love each other. They love to play together, they love to help each other, and they love to comfort each other. I was so thrilled to see them choosing to hold on to each other when scared or nervous, instead of me. I hope and pray for them that they will have a best friend in each other, someone that they will always be able to rely on for comfort and security. Don't get me wrong, I know they will have their moments when they can't stand each other (as they already do)...however I think that with a little gentle pushing from mommy and daddy, and lots of prayers I really think that my hopes for their relationship will come true.

I'm back!!

Well...my blog definitely needs a change of title. Not 365! Oh well! It just became a little too overwelming to post every day. Instead I think I'll make this a blog to post photos that I take every once in a while. I'll also post shots of my girls so my family far away can stay in the loop as to how we're all doing. Speaking of the girls...here they are!

It was a beautiful day here in So Cal! I love it when it's going to rain...or at least looks like it. We went for a walk down at the beach and looked at the tide pools. Mia didn't want to do anything but sit in the wet sand and dig with her mussel shell!
